Marathon participants will start heading West for 1.44 miles then turn around and head back towards Stahlman Park Pavilion. Participants will run past the Start/Finish Line, East towards San Luis Pass. The East turn around is a little over 5 miles from Stahlman at Mile 8. Participants will turn around and head back West towards Stahlman where they will run through a Split chute next to the Start/Finish chute to begin their second lap and repeat the course.
Half Marathon participants will start heading West for 1.44 miles then turn around and head back towards Stahlman Park Pavilion. Participants will run past the Start/Finish Line, East towards San Luis Pass. The East turn around is a little over 5 miles from Stahlman at Mile 8. Participants will turn around and head back West towards Stahlman to finish.
Kids K, 5K & 10K participants will start heading East toward San Luis Pass then turn around at assigned race turnaround points and head back to the finish line.
Water Stations are located every 1-1.5 miles away. Water stations will have water and HEED (Hammer's premiere electrolyte drink)
Porta Potties are at every Beach Entrance/Access Road and at Stahlman Park Pavilion
Course is accurately measured by GPS. During times of high or changing time there is a possibility of a little zig-zagging. The great news is you can't get lost - the ocean will either be on your right or your left!
Be aware of your surroundings. Tide may cause ripples, irregularities and debris on beach. Beach is open to the public and there may be vehicular traffic on beach. Generally, there is plenty of room for both runners and vehicles and traffic is light at the time of the race.
Surfside Beach, Texas is located south of Houston in Brazoria County. Voted Best Gulf Coast Town Surfside is known for miles and miles of beautiful beach and small town feel.
